前段时间，Gold Tone公司购得了Mastertone商标。Mastertone商标先前由大名鼎鼎的Gibson所有，后被一家小提琴厂商获得。现在，Gold Tone和这家小提琴公司达成了一项协议，Gold Tone今后可以在旗下弦乐器上使用Mastertone商标。
从Gold Tone官网上看，Mastertone商标已经投入使用。不仅限于Béla Fleck签名款等中高端班卓琴产品线，曼陀铃、滑棒吉他也有少量型号被归在Mastertone之下。
Mastertone是Gibson经典班卓琴的同义词，也是“战前”共鸣班卓琴的集大成者。Gibson班卓琴收藏家Jim Mills曾专著有《Gibson Mastertone: Flathead 5-String Banjos of the 1930s And 1940s》一书，专门考古研究Mastertone这一特定系列。
